「あ、はあ、知らないかったです。すみません。」
「うん、今日から絶対にしないでね。あ、泉さん、ちょっと表出る？あのさあ、エンド、そろそろ夏のギフト用にしたいんだよね。今回は派手に売り場作ろうとおもってるんだ」
「あ、はいー。もうギフトの見本来てますよね？手伝いますー」
「今日中にやっちゃいたいんだけど、棚の高さ全部変えないといけなくてさー。下の段に夏の雑貨も置きたいから一段増やしたいんだけど。あ、古倉さんと白羽さん、朝礼やっててくれる？先にそっちゃってくるわ。」
「はい！」
店長と泉さんがバックルームから出ていくと、白羽さんが小さく舌打ちした。
ふとそちらを見ると、吐き捨てるように白羽さんが言った。
「け、コンビニの店長ふぜいが、えっらそうに」
「コンビニで働いていると、そこで働いているということを見下されることが、よくある。興味深いので私は見下している人の顔を見るのが、わりと好きだった。あ、（７０）人間だという感じがするのだ。
「あ、はあ、知らないかったです。すみません。」
"Oh, uh, I didn't know. I'm sorry."
「うん、今日から絶対にしないでね。あ、泉さん、ちょっと表出る？あのさあ、エンド、そろそろ夏のギフト用にしたいんだよね。今回は派手に売り場作ろうと思うってるんだ」
"Yeah, absolutely don't do it from today onwards. Oh, Izumi-san, can you come outside for a moment? You see, I want to prepare for summer gift season soon. This time, I'm thinking of making the display more flashy."

"Yes!"
店長と泉さんがバックルームから出ていくと、白羽さんが小さく舌打ちした。
When the store manager and Izumi left the back room, Shiraha let out a small click of her tongue.
ふとそちらを見ると、吐き捨てるように白羽さんが言った。
Suddenly, when I looked in that direction, Shiraha spoke in a somewhat disdainful manner.
「け、コンビニの店長ふぜいが、えっらそうに」
"Th-the convenience store manager acting all high and mighty."
「コンビニで働いていると、そこで働いているということを見下されることが、よくある。興味深いので私は見下している人の顔を見るのが、わりと好きだった。あ、人間だという感じがするのだ。」
"When you work at a convenience store, it's common to be looked down upon because of your job. It's quite interesting, so I rather like looking at the faces of those who look down on me. Oh, it gives me a sense of being human."
