「あの人、遅刻も多いんですよねー。今日も９時からなのに、まだ来てないし」泉さんが顔をしかめた。
「あの人、３５歳とかでしたよね。それで、コンビニアルバイトって、そもそも、終わってません？」
「人生終了だよな。だめだ。ありゃ。社会のお荷物だよ。人間はさー。仕事か、家底か、どちらかで社会に所属するのが義務なんだよ」
大きく頷いた泉さんが、ハッとして店長を小突き、「古倉さんみたいにお家の事情があるならわかるけど。ねえ？」と言った。
「あーそうう、古倉さんは仕方ないけどさー。ほら、男と女の違いもあるから！」
店長も急いで言い、私が返事をする前に、話題は白羽さんに戻った。
「それに比べて白羽はマジで終わってるわ。あいつさあ。レジの中で携帯弄ってる（６７）ときがるんだよね。」

"Well, you know, we took them in because we're short-staffed, but seriously, we need to talk to that idiot at least once."

大きく頷いた泉さんが、ハッとして店長を小突き、「古倉さんみたいにお家の事情があるならわかるけど。ねえ？」と言った。
Izumi-san, who nodded vigorously, suddenly poked the store manager and said, "I mean, I understand if someone has family reasons like Furukawa-san, right? Don't you think?"
「あーそうう、古倉さんは仕方ないけどさー。ほら、男と女の違いもあるから！」
"Ah, yeah, Furukawa-san can't help it, you know. Besides, there's a difference between men and women, you see!"
店長も急いで言い、私が返事をする前に、話題は白羽さんに戻った。
The store manager quickly added, and before I could respond, the conversation returned to Shirahane-san.
「それに比べて白羽はマジで終わってるわ。あいつさあ。レジの中で携帯弄ってる（こうたいさわる）ときがるんだよね。」
