私は億劫そうな白羽さんを再びパック飲料の売り場まで連れて行き、よくよくわかるように、説明しながらてを動かして商品を綺麗に並べ直し見せた。
「こうやって、お客様に商品の顔が向くように並べであげてくださいね！、あと、場所は勝手に動かさないで、ここが野菜ジュース、ここが短乳と決まってるんで、。。。」
「こういうのって、男の本能に向いている仕事じゃないですよね」
白羽さんがぼそりと言った。
「だった、縄文時代からそうじゃないですか？男は狩りに行って、女は家を守りながら木の実や野草を集めて帰りを持つ。こういう作業って、脳の仕組み的に、女が向いている仕事ですよね」
「白羽さん！今は現代ですよ！コンビニ店員はみんな男でも女でもなく店員です！あ、バックルームに在庫があるんで、それを並べる仕事も一緒に覚えちゃいましょう！」
ウオークインから在庫を出して白羽さんに在庫を並べる説明をすると、私は急い（５６）で自分の仕事に戻った。
