「それが終わったら掃除を教えるんで、声をかけてくださいね！」
彼は返事をせず、無言で作業を続けるだけだった。
しばらくレジを打っで、朝ピークの行列が終わった後に様子を見に行くと、白羽さんの姿がなかった。パック飲料は並びがぐちゃぐちゃになっていて、オレンジジュースがあるべきところに牛乳が並んでいる。
白羽さんを探しにいくと、だるそうな仕草でバックルームのマニュアルを読んでいるところだった。
「どうしました？何かわからないことがありましたか？」
白羽さんはマニュアルのページを捲りながらもったいぶった口調で言った。
「いや、こういうチェーンのマニュアルって、的をいてないっていうか、よくできてないでよね。僕、こういうのをちゃんとすることから、会社って改善されていくと思うんですよ」
「白羽さん、さっき頼んだフェイスアップなんですけど、まだ終わってないんですか？」
「いや、あれで終わりですけど？」
白羽さんがマニュアルから目を離さないので、私は近づいて元気な声をでした。
「それが終わったら掃除を教えるんで、声をかけてくださいね！」
"When that's finished, please let me know so I can teach you how to clean!"

He didn't respond and continued working silently.
しばらくレジを打って、朝ピークの行列が終わった後に様子を見に行くと、白羽さんの姿がなかった。
After working at the cash register for a while, I went to check on things after the morning rush had ended, but Shihara-san was nowhere to be found.
パック飲料は並びがぐちゃぐちゃになっていて、オレンジジュースがあるべきところに牛乳が並んでいる。
The packs of beverages were disorganized, and milk was where orange juice should be.
白羽さんを探しにいくと、だるそうな仕草でバックルームのマニュアルを読んでいるところだった。
When I went to look for Shihara-san, I found him in the back room, looking tired and reading the manual.
「どうしました？何かわからないことがありましたか？」
"What's the matter? Is there something you don't understand?"
白羽さんはマニュアルのページを捲りながらもったいぶった口調で言った。
Shihara-san, while flipping through the pages of the manual, responded in a somewhat hesitant tone.
「いや、こういうチェーンのマニュアルって、的をいてないっていうか、よくできてないでよね。僕、こういうのをちゃんとすることから、会社って改善されていくと思うんですよ」
"No, these chain manuals are kind of off the mark, aren't they? They're not very well made. I think a company improves from making things like this properly."
「白羽さん、さっき頼んだフェイスアップなんですけど、まだ終わってないんですか？」
"Shihara-san, about the “face-up” I asked you to do earlier, is it not finished yet?"
「いや、あれで終わりですけど？」
"No, it's done."
白羽さんがマニュアルから目を離さないので、私は近づいて元気な声をでました。
Since Shihara-san didn't take his eyes off the manual, I approached and spoke with an energetic voice.
