７人目の店長は気弱すぎて夜勤になかな注意ができ図に店がボロボロになってしまったので、少し口が悪くてもこれくらいの方が働きやすいと、８人目の店長を見ると思う。
１８年間、「店長」は姿を変えながらずっと店にいた。一人一人違うのに、全員合わせて一匹の生き物であるような気持ちになることがある。
８人目の店長は声が大きく、バックルームではいつも彼の声が反響している。
「あ、今日、新人の白羽ちんとだから！夕方に研修して昼勤は初めてだよね。よろしくしてあげてね！」
「はい！」
元気よく返事をすると、店長は数字を打ち込む手を休めずに何度も頷いた。
「いやあ、古倉さんがいると安心だわー。岩木君が本格的に抜けちゃうから、しばらく、古倉さんと泉さんと菅原さん、それと新戦力の白羽さんの４人で昼まわすことになるけど、よろしく！俺はちょっと、しばらくの間は夜勤に入るしかなさそうだわー」
声のトーンは全く違うものの、店長も泉さんと同じように語尾を伸ばして乗る癖がある。泉さんの後に８人目の店長が来たから、泉さんのが店長に移ったのかもしれないし（４７）、店長の喋り方を吸収して泉さんがますます語尾を伸ばすようになったのかもしれない。
