テーブルの上には「借用書」と書かれた紙が置かれていた。
「ちゃんっと働いて返してくださいよ。まったく、なんで私が義理の兄のためにここまでしないといけないんだか！」
「あの、どうしここがわかったんですか」か細い声で白羽さんが言う。私は、白羽さんの「隠してほしい」と言うのは家賃を払わないで逃げているから、という意味も会ったのだろうかと思った。
白羽さんの質問に、義妹は鼻で笑って言った。
「前にもお義兄さん、家賃を滞納して実家までお金を借りにきたことがあったでしょ。あの時、こんなことになる気がして、旦那に頼んでお義兄さんの携帯に追跡アプリ入れてもらってたんですよ。だからここにいることはわかってたんで、コンビニに出かけたところを捕まえたんです」
