「わざわざ来てくれなくても、呼んでくれればいつもみたいに家まで遊びに行ったのに」
「いいのいいの、今日はお姉ちゃんゆっくり話したかったから。。。お邪魔じゃなかった？」
姉は部屋を見回して、「あの、一緒に暮らしてる人は、今日はお出かけ？気を遣わせらっちゃったかな。。」と言った。
「え？ううん、いるよ。」
「え？ど、どこに？ご挨拶しないと。。。」
慌てて立ち上がった姉に、「別にそんなのしないでいいよ。ああ、でもそろそろ餌の時間かあ。。。」と言い、台所に置いてあった洗面器に、ご飯と、鍋の中にあるお湯で茹でられたじゃがいもとキャベツを入れ、風呂湯に持って行った。
白羽さんはバスタブの中に敷き詰めた座布団に座ってスマホをいじっており、私が餌を渡すと黙って受け取った。
「お風呂湯。。。？お風呂に入ってるの？」
「うん。一緒の部屋だお狭いからそこに住まわせてるの」
