どうやら商品券の操作に戸惑っているらしい。手早く操作しながら教え、「これはね、お釣りが出る商品券だからね、お釣りをお渡ししてね！」と伝えて自分はもう一方のレジ走る。
「お待たせしました！こちらのレジへどうぞ！」
待たされて少し不機嫌そうになった男性客がレジへ来て、「あっちの人、新人？急いでるんだけど」と苛々した口調でいうので「申し訳ありまん！」と頭を下げた。
トウアンくんはまだ操作に慣れないから、泉さんが一緒にレジを見ていたはずだ。見ると、泉さんはパック飲料の発注に集中していて、レジが混んできたことに気がついていないようだった。
やっとレジが落ち着き、今日のセール品であるからあげ棒がまだできていないのいきが付き、慌ててバックルームの冷凍庫へと走った。
バックルームに行くと、店長と泉さんが楽しそうに何か話しているところだった。
「店長、今日、からあげ棒、目標１００本ですよね！まだ昼ピークの分全然できてなくて、POP持ついてないみたいなんです！」
それは大変だ、と泉さんと店長が言うと思ったのに、泉さんが身をのりだして私に（１１８）話しかけてきた。

Toan-kun wasn't used to the operation yet, so I thought Izumi-san would have been watching the register with him. But when I looked, Izumi-san seemed to be focused on ordering packed beverages and didn't seem to notice that the register was getting busy.

バックルームに行くと、店長と泉さんが楽しそうに何か話しているところだった。
