「はあ。。。」
「私、思ったんですけど、白羽さんが家にいると都合かいいかもしれません。今、試しに妹に電話して見たんですけど、勝手に話を作ってすごく喜んでくれるんですよね。男女が同じ部屋にいると、事実はどうあれ、想像を広げて納得してくれるものなんだなと思いました」
「妹さんに。。。」
白羽さんは戸惑った様子で言った。
「あ、缶ビールー飲みますか？サイダーもあります。ヘコ缶を買ってきただけなんで、冷えてないですけど」
「ヘコ。。。？」
「ああ、説明したことなかったですかね。缶がへこんで売り物にならない商品を、そう呼ぶんです。あとは牛乳とポットの白湯しかないんですけど」
「はあ、缶コーヒーをもらいます」
家には折り畳み式の小さなデーブルがあるだけだ。部屋が狭いので、敷きっぱなしだった布団は丸まって冷蔵庫の前に押しやられている。妹や母親が泊まりにくることがたまにあるので、押入れの中にはもう一組布団がある。
「はあ。。。」
"Sigh..."

白羽さんは戸惑った様子で言った。
Shiraha-san seemed perplexed as they said this.
「あ、缶ビールー飲みますか？サイダーもあります。ヘコ缶を買ってきただけなんで、冷えてないですけど」
"Oh, would you like a canned beer? We also have some cider. I just bought dented cans, so they're not cold, though."
「ヘコ。。。？」
"Dented...?"
「ああ、説明したことなかったですかね。缶がへこんで売り物にならない商品を、そう呼ぶんです。あとは牛乳とポットの白湯しかないんですけど」
"Ah, did I not explain that before? It's what we call products where the cans are dented and can't be sold as regular items. We also have milk and hot water from the pot."
「はあ、缶コーヒーをもらいます」
"Sigh, I'll have a canned coffee."

There is only a small folding table in the house. Since the room is small, the futon that was left spread out has been rolled up and pushed in front of the refrigerator. Occasionally, my younger sister and mother stay over, so there's another set of futons in the closet.
